Description
Most popular variety/strong growing habit. Very winter hardy, thick stems, traditional variety produces a long, robust, white stem and blue-green foliage. Easy to grow and requires little space.
Harvest time: Late Summer through Winter.
How to grow: Leeks like rich but well-drained soil with ample nitrogen and organic matter in an open position. Plant at the bottom of a hole about 15cm (6in deep and water well. Plant spacing 15cm (6in) apart in rows.

Before packaging for dispatch, we water the plant and wrap the roots in a tissue to retain moisture, the plants are then pack in a blister pack container. We pack them as ready for collection by the courier the same day, reducing the length of time that the plants are in the packaging.
What to do next
When the plants arrive, check their condition, and remove from the packaging. Allow the plant time to recover by placing in a warm greenhouse or window in your home, if the plant requires moisture add water. After a couple of days the plant can be potted on to the next pot size, allowing the plant to develop.
Remember, the plants have been grown in a warm greenhouse and will have not been exposed to temperatures below 6 degrees. Its important that the plant continues to grow in a similar environment, many plants will struggle if exposed to temperatures below Zero and will need protecting against this.
