Alyssum - Carpet of Snow

Description

Alyssum Carpet of Snow is an early blooming, low border annual which produces a blanket of thimble-shaped clusters of pure-white blossoms with a sweet, honey-like fragrance. Very free flowering. Perfect for lining walkways, borders, edgings, in rock gardens, between paving stones, and for containers or in window boxes.

Suitable for: Plant in light. moderately fertile but well-drained soil in full sun.

Flowering time: Summer to early Autumn.

Height and Spread: 10-15cm x 10-15cm (4-6in x 4-6in).

Care: Water freely in mid Summer. Clip after the first flush of bloom to encourage further flowering.

Delivery information

Before packaging for dispatch, we water the plant and wrap the roots in a tissue to retain moisture, the plants are then pack in a blister pack container. We pack them as ready for collection by the courier the same day, reducing the length of time that the plants are in the packaging.

What to do next

When the plants arrive, check their condition, and remove from the packaging. Allow the plant time to recover by placing in a warm greenhouse or window in your home, if the plant requires moisture add water. After a couple of days the plant can be potted on to the next pot size, allowing the plant to develop.

Remember, the plants have been grown in a warm greenhouse and will have not been exposed to temperatures below 6 degrees. Its important that the plant continues to grow in a similar environment, many plants will struggle if exposed to temperatures below Zero and will need protecting against this.
